God bless all those that I love;

God bless all those that love me;

God bless all those that love those that I love;

Sociograms

Graphically show the patterns of choice

existing among members of a group

at a given point of time

There are two choices possible

·      Unreciprocal choices

·       Reciprocal choices

A simple diagram that combines  the sociometric relations of

1. an isolate

2. a clique

3. a star

and shows the relation of a mutual pair.

Leadership Models

Remember the 6 classes of resources for power that allow control of another

1. normative (authority)

2. coercion (brute force)

3. expert knowledge (influence)

4. information (persuasion)

5. reward (exchange)

6. personal (charismatic)

Another important root of leadership models are personality traits of leaders.

Leaders are

·     taller (not a trait of course)

·     more intelligent

·     more confident

·     more adaptable

·     have a higher desire for power

Main Leadership Theories

·     Charismatic Leadership

·     Vertical Dyad Linkage Model

·     Transformational Leaders

·     Four-Factor Theory of Leadership

Transformational Leaders

Three core components:

1. Ability to communicate a vision.

2. Ability to implement a vision.

3. Charismatic communication

Four-Factor Theory of Leadership

·     climate,

·     feedback,

·     input,

·     and output.
