Night baseball
was introduced to the major leagues during this decade; it was
fast becoming a staple in the minors and elsewhere as seen by the
1939 game in Marshall, Texas, Library of
Congress, LC-USF33-012167-M5 DLC "America from the Great
Depression to World War II: Photographs from the FSA-OWI,
1935-1945."
Joe Dimaggio is remembered with The Joe DiMaggio scrapbook by The Sporting News. The Washington Post, offered a feature upon his death.

The Library of Congress, American Treasures, includes the cover of the sheet music for "I Can't Get to First base with You."by Mrs. Lou Gehrig and Fred Fischer in its baseball songs section. Gehrig is remembered in part of CNNSI's Yankee's Greatest Hits section.
Little League Baseball originated in the 1930s and The Sporting News offers a special feature on its rise.
The Library of Congress' "Washington as It Was: the Photographs of Theodor Horydczak," offers views of the 1933 World Series and Griffith Stadium.
